This is the State of Manufacturing a Fridge?

clear No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Goodness, they put a man on the moon with less technology than they have today, and yet seems like Whirlpool, and countless others can't figure out how to make decent plastic produce drawers that work and function. Replaced an older 30" Kenmore who's drawers lasted years but.... ultimately other areas of that fridge started failing, necessitating replacement. After extensive research, reading reviews EVERYWHERE, the logical conclusion is that there isn't a perfect refrigerator; they all had they're faults and foibles. Wasn't easy selecting the lesser of the evils but ultimately settled on the Whirlpool. Note: the way the parent company for all the brands under them has elected to implement their "customer service", and I use that phrase sparingly, is horrendous. You would think they'd put their best foot forward given this is the first point of contact to make an impression, and instead it's a farmed-out calling service to people who are untrained, have no knowledge of the products short of what you can read yourself on their websites with hold times up to 30 - 45 minutes before someone picks up a phone with kids crying in the background or other domestic affairs going on. While it's not off-shore, I think I'd rather speak to ANYONE in a timely manner that had knowledge of what they were representing. So, not a good first impressions and I loath to think that this is the channel I'm going to have to go thru should I need repairs etc... It will probably be easier to just pay an independent repair person rather than going thru Whirlpool and dealing that the potential nightmare of an unresponsive and uncaring corporation. So, glad to have our old fridge replaced and the new one works as advertised; it keeps things cold and the freezer stuff frozen. Layout of the fridge is questionable; the adjustable shelf for larger items (bottles) works but then creates a dead space behind those items which is difficult to access without out having the clear them out to reach in behind them. Gotta be a better solution, but this is livable. The real kicker are those plastic produce drawers!!! The top left one jumps off it's track with the slightest pull if it isn't STRAIGHT out. Pull even at the slightest angle to the right and the left side of the bin slips off it's minuscule "track" and becomes dislodged. Really? This drawer can't take any side pressure of any kind without failing? Think if every drawer in your house was like that, having to be opened with a precision straight pull. I can't even imagine how this is going to hold up after a year much less a couple of months. Luckily the kids have left for college so we don't need to give them a lesson on how to open a produce bin (really.... this is ridiculous) because this isn't going to be able to stand up to anything other than 2 well trained practitioners in The Art of the Bin. Whirlpool and all manufactures; we have a problem!

Refrigerator came with no damages and was packaged well, seems to be a little louder than the old one but is easily over looked. The only issue was poor communication from Whirlpool when it was back ordered, all in all it was a good buy
Perfect fit!!
