Dont buy this fridge. Mine is two years old and the compressor broke. Its under warranty and Im on day 10 of no action by LG. They dont stand behind their products. Complete and total finger pointing runaround.

OK but . . . if you notice the photos of an open model with food in it you will see that there are no bottles of milk or cartons of orange juice. Why? Because they dont fit To get them to fit you have to remove one of the shelves. So to repeat an OK model but limited shelf space because you can only use three of the four shelves provided one on one side two on the other.

Review of: LG 21.8-cu ft French Door Refrigerator with Ice Maker Stainless Steel ENERGY STAR Model #LFDS22520S from Lowes: Lowes delivery contractors arrived exactly on time and did a great job of installing the refrigerator. We helped by having a clear path to its location with the old model ready to go. No damages no issues. Good job. Were stuck using a 33 model because of an older house with a built-in area for the refrigerator. This is our first French door model after two consecutive side-by-sides both had water/ice dispensers in the door and both have rusted out below the water/ice dispensers from moisture inside the door so we chose not to go that route again. Initially we ordered the LG Model LRFCS25D3S which only has an ice dispenser in the freezer with no water or ice in the door until we learned that this model did not have a built in water filter which we believe any refrigerator dispensing ice and/or water should have. Nobody in sales realized this until we brought it to their attention - very easy to miss plus there wasnt a model on the floor to look at. In our case when the city flushes out the lines for example we receive sediment in our water lines for the next couple days/weeks and we dont need to be drinking it. So we switched to this LG model for an additional $100. Its a tad smaller in size and has a water dispenser but well adapt. Observations after one week of ownership: - ALWAYS READ THE MANUAL FIRST - you can download it and read it at home before you order. - This is a beautiful refrigerator but it really is a fingerprint magnet. If we had young children UGH Also the stainless finish our first appears to be quite delicate susceptible to scratching/denting certainly not as durable a finish as the standard white models although were not there yet. Magnets do not stick to the front which may or may not be an issue for you. Wipe it off with the grain - The water dispenser lights up when in use and squirts the water out at a 45 degree angle so its easy to fill almost any size container without a mess however like most in-door water dispensers you get the best chilled water in the first glass full immediately after that youll get cooled water at best. We havent experienced any post-nasal drips from the dispenser or standing water on the tiny shelf so at this time dont anticipate any rusting from the interior. - Pay attention to the instruction manual when flushing the filter for the first time. Dont run 2.5 gallons through the water dispenser without pausing per the instructions. - Refrigerator is very well it. General illumination including the door is all good. - Yes our 1 gallon milk bottles fit with a little room to spare along with both 6 and 10 cup Brita water pitchers conveniently on the upper right hand shelf by lowering it to the next level the 10 cup is a snug fit. Some reviews say this is not the case. Different sized gallon bottles? Older model? - Yes wine/tall bottles fit in the right hand door by lowering the bottom shelf to its lowest position. - The open door alarm is fine not obnoxious at all. Maybe it can be turned off - we havent checked and wouldnt turn it off anyway with a teenager in the house. - Its very quiet. Yes the ice maker is loud during the initial fill with the ice falling into n empty plastic container but this gradually gets better as it fills. We have never owned a refrigerator with a completely silent ice maker. Nancy Pelosi owns at least one. - Our first few batches of ice ended up clumped together at the back of the ice tray which I believe was the result of the tray not being cool enough when the first ice fell. Well see what happens over time. - The refrigerator and freezer settings on the door are both additive i.e. they only go up/increase when pressed then reach their top number and start all over again at the bottom number going back up until you reach the number you want then stop pressing. Ours came with the freezer set on zero and the refer set on 37 degrees. We havent needed to change it. - The freezer has an on/off switch with the top marked with an I = on and the bottom marked with an O = off. Ours was already turned on so we had to do nothing. - As opposed to our previous side-by-sides we can now fit several full size pizzas in the freezer - YAY - Maybe a negative but you need to push the doors closed on this model. You cant just let them swing shut on their own. It helps door closing if during installation the front of the refrigerator is slightly elevated in the manual. - So far we love this refrigerator mainly because the French Doors place more of the items we use on a daily basis at an eye/elevated level which is brightly lit vs. the side-by-side with the Fruit/Vegetable doors at the bottom for example. In time we may find the inverse to be true about the freezer but for now its handy divider separates meats from everything else. - Longevity will be the telling tale as we hear all sorts of negative stories about modern appliances including LG. Ten years or more of service would be ok. Recommended.
