I am on my third Opal in 7 months. First one started making squealing noises the stopped making ice within a month, but it was given as a Christmas present so the purchase date was more than a month, I was sent a "refurbished" unit. Missing screws, others not screwed in, it never was able to make ice. It was returned and another brand new one purchased, after a couple months it is squealing and stops making ice frequently. It goes into cleaning required mode hours after the last cleaning. Very frustrating to have three of these in 7 months because each stopped making ice. Looking to switch to another brand now, I am tired of messing with it.

We are truly obsessed with our Opal Ice Maker!! It is the perfect addition to our kitchen and worth every penny. The ice is exactly what we wanted it to be!!

Cleaned product and then turned switch to ICE. Started to make ice, then initiated a spray of water which melted the ice.

My first Opal I used for 5 years with complete satisfaction. It started to have a few issues so immediately I ordered a new one. I enjoy this ice so much I did not want to go a day with out my nugget ice. I love it!!!!!
