Love the fridge- hate the problems

We were really happy with this product until about a month ago. It had the all too common compressor issue. LG covered the part but I was stuck paying over 600.00 in labor costs. The new compressor lasted 4 days before dying as well. That one was replaced free of charge but who knows how much life is left in this new compressor. Is it 5 days or 5 years? Time will tell

Fridge only lasted 7 years. Older style fridge lasted 20 plus years. Compressor went and is very costly to have replaced.

The fridge worked well for a few years but now cools very unevenly range 30 to 50 F even with the fridge temp set to 34 F. I cleaned the coils unplugged it to reset it but it still doesnt seem to hold its internal temperature well. I called a few LG repair companies who told me that they dont service LG fridges over 5 years old because they are too problematic.

I am not so happy that I bought this refrigerator I like the features but the compressor failed. After a lot of phone calls to repair technicians they did not wanted to touch it. Finally I call LG and they did a great job sending someone to repair it had to wait 2 weeks.

6 years of quality so far. Excellent usability Excellent quiet performance. Easy to maintain. The one time that we have needed warranty service our customer service experience with LG was exceptionally positive. Definitely want to purchase LG for our next refrigerator--but as well as this refrigerator has operated that may be quite a while from now
