I bought this to replace a 20 year old Kitchen Aid Microwave that the touch pad had worn out. This new one seems to be as great as the one I replaced.

After only almost two years, the door latch started to malfunction. It first started as the door being closed but the microwave did not register it as closed. After a few months of that, the door would not latch at all. I bought it brand new only two years ago and kitchenaid will not do anything for me.

We remodeled our kitchen about three years ago and purchased all new Kitchenaid appliances: range, overhead microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. We haven’t been happy with any of them. The fridge has made an awful rattling sound since the day we got it that local appliance technicians have never managed to fix, the dishwasher doesn’t clean anywhere close to as well as my old (and I do mean OLD) Kenmore did, the oven takes F.O.R.E.V.E.R to heat up, and now the microwave won’t run unless you program the time before closing the door...and the light inside doesn’t come on until the door has been open for a few seconds, if it comes on at all. I’m so disappointed in this brand it makes me want to cry. We aren’t made of money and expected to get years of use out of these appliances. That is clearly not going to happen.
